Most of us here at Mariner will admit that we’re beer snobs. Since stouts pair nicely with chocolate, we decided we would test drive this ridiculously yummy-looking recipe adapted from a recipe Mariner Mary found online.
Chocolate Stoutshake (makes 2 or 3, depending on the size of your glasses)
1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened
6 ounces stout (we tried both Guiness extra stout and Young’s Double Chocolate Stout)
3 or 4 tablespoons of chocolate fudge sauce
How you do it:
1. Blend all ingredients in a blender until thick and frothy.
2. Pour stoutshakes into glasses and top with whipped cream, if desired (we skipped the whipped cream because we didn’t want to mess with all that chocolaty beer goodness).
So what’s the verdict? Did Mariner Mary get chopped from the Mariner Kitchen? Definitely not, this delicious dessert was a BIG hit!
